I hope you have had a good Christmas and I would like to wish you a happy New Year.

As a number of you will be aware, we are changing the way in which the ATCO membership administration is carried out. Earlier this year, we invited Expressions of Interest and interviewed a range of applicants for the contract to carry out membership management and administration and it was awarded to FTA to commence from 1 January 2010.

Taking a fresh look at how we deal with membership management and administration was all part of the ATCO Review and we aim to use FTA's experience in this field to offer an improved service to members at no additional cost to the Association.

From 1 January 2010, membership management and administration will be carried out by FTA. This includes them becoming responsible for membership arrangements together with taking over as the administrator for Yahoo Groups including ATCO Noticeboard and ATCOlist. As part of the new regime, we intend to issue membership cards and a Members Information Pack to all members and you should receive this as soon as the work on the transition is complete in the Spring.

Finally, a note of thanks to Janet Taplin who has carried out these services for a number of years and many thanks for all her hard work in keeping us organised. Janet will continue to work with the North East Committee assisting in the organisation of the Summer Conference at Harrogate in 2010. Many thanks.
